Age: 60 • Grand Isle
Doreen J. (Chagnon) Draper, of Grand Isle, died Thursday morning, May 25, 2017 at the VNA Respite House in Colchester with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 60.
Born, raised and educated in Burlington, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Virginia (Klein) Chagnon. A resident of Grand Isle for the past 19 years, she had retired from IBM and enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Ms. Draper is survived by her daughter Kristina L. Smith and her husband Phillip, her sisters Carol Rocque and husband Gary, Judy Driscoll and her husband Carl, her brothers, Nelson Chagnon Jr and wife Pat, Bruce Chagnon and Gary Chagnon, and her significant other Norm Church and her cherished granddaughters, Avery and Harper Smith. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her mother Virginia and father Nelson and also her son Steven.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd. Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, at 10am in St. Mark Catholic Church with a private burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington. Immediately following mass there will be a gathering for friends and family at Lakeview House Restaurant 1710 Shelburne Rd, South Burlington, VT 05403.
