Alan Craig Thompson

Colchester- -Alan C. Thompson, 68, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Alan was born in Burlington on Aug. 1, 1955, the son of Frank and Irene (Barnes) Thompson. He graduated from Burlington High School, Class of 1974. Alan lived life to the fullest and enjoyed all that he did. His favorite place to be was in the kitchen baking and cooking and/or watching cooking shows for new ideas and recipes. He also loved collecting old cars. He was the owner of ACT Painting with his son, Beau. His most important time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy, (AKA Lulubelle), his son, Beau Alan and his fiancée, Kasey, four grandchildren: Kayden, Jayden, Mercadez and Beau, son, Cody Cunningham and many other family and friends.

Alan was predeceased by his parents.

Although Alan is no longer with us, the spirit and loved he shared will always live on. 

The Thompson family would like to thank UVM Medical Oncology & Radiology departments, along with many doctors and special nurses that he met along the way and treated them with his famous and wonderful banana breads. Also special mention to Shawn and Heather for their diligent care during his courageous battle.

Visitation is on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023 from 10 am-12 noon when his service will begin at Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington. A reception will follow at RVA, 84 Weaver St., Winooski. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, P.O.
