November 6, 2007 David H. Proulx, 70, of Baldwinsville, died Tuesday, November 6, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mr. Proulx was born March 20, 1937 in Plattsburgh, NY to Francis Proulx and Lillian Chagnon. He graduated from Plattsburgh High school in 1954, and from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1958. Mr. Proulx retired as a biology teacher from Baker High School and had 34 years of service in the Baldwinsville school district. He served in the U.S. Army and Air National Guard, retiring with a rank of Major of 23 years. Mr. Proulx had coached football, wrestling, and softball at Baker High School and Little League baseball. He was a lifetime member of Syracuse Stamp Club and VFW. He was a Curator of the PMCC Museum and held posts as Director and Secretary. He was a published author in Postal History, had hiked the Appalachian Trail, developed a Field Biology curriculum for Baker High School at Beaver Lake Nature Center, and was invited to serve as a postal history consultant to the Smithsonian Institute in DC. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Beverly R.; two daughters, Michelle (Jefferie) Wilson of Phoenix, Kimberly (Paul) Clewell of Altanta, GA; two sons, Michael of PA and Steven of Rochester; seven grandchidren. Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 9 a.m. at Gates Funeral Home, Inc. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 29 West Genesee Street, Baldwinsville. Burial will be held at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery, Syracuse, where he will receive military honors.
